Privacy Policy

Who this covers

This policy applies to the Worthy iOS application ("the app") and to the website at worthy-app.com ("the site"). Throughout this document, "we" and "us" refer to the developer of Worthy.

The Worthy app

Worthy is built to do one thing: scan the serial number of a US dollar bill and tell you whether it's interesting. To do that, it needs no account, no sign-up, and no information about you.

• No personal data is collected. No name, email, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
• No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking technologies of any kind in the app.
• No advertising. Worthy does not show ads and does not share data with advertisers.
• Runs on your device. All bill analysis and valuation happens on your phone, using data that ships inside the app. Worthy has no server of its own and makes no network calls for its features.
• No third-party data sharing. The only place your data can travel is your own iCloud, if you choose to enable it, and that stays inside your Apple account (see section 4).

Camera & scanning

Worthy uses your device camera so it can read the serial number printed on a bill in real time. Your phone does the reading; nothing is sent anywhere.

• The camera feed is processed live, on your device, only to recognize the serial number text.
• No photographs are taken or saved. Worthy does not store images of your bills, and does not keep full-resolution pictures of either side of a note.
• The video frames used for recognition are discarded immediately after the serial number is read.
• Nothing from the camera is ever transmitted off the device.

iOS will ask for your permission before the camera is used. You can change or revoke this at any time in Settings → Worthy. Without camera access, the scanning feature won't work, but no other data is affected.

What's stored on your device

When you scan a bill, Worthy can save the result (the serial number, the pattern it detected, and an estimated value) to a scan history. This history lives on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, can sync privately through your own iCloud account.

• The history is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. If iCloud sync is on, a copy is kept in your personal iCloud account and shared only between your own devices.
• This syncing is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud, tied to your Apple ID and secured by Apple. It follows your iCloud settings, and you can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time.
• We have no access to any of it. We cannot see, retrieve, or delete your history, whether it sits on your device or in your iCloud.
• Deleting the app removes its local history. You can remove the iCloud copy from your iCloud settings.

This website

The page you're reading lives at worthy-app.com, which is served and protected through Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider. Like essentially every modern website, this means some basic technical data is processed when you visit. This is not done by us for marketing, but by the infrastructure that keeps the site online and safe.

• Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and request details to deliver the page, defend against attacks, and prevent abuse.
• Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (for example, to tell humans apart from bots). These are used for security, not to profile or track you.
• We do not run our own analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site.

Children's privacy

Worthy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. That's straightforward here, since we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your choices

Because the app stores everything locally and we hold no data about you, you are already fully in control:

• Your scan history can be cleared inside the app, or removed entirely by deleting the app.
• Camera access can be granted or revoked anytime in iOS Settings.
• There is nothing on our side to request, export, correct, or delete; we never had it.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have rights regarding their personal information. For completeness: Worthy does not collect, sell, or share personal information, so there is no personal information for us to disclose or delete. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated to describe those rights in detail.

Changes to this policy

If Worthy gains features that change how data is handled, such as optional online lookups for live market comparisons, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be reflected here before the relevant feature is enabled.
